From the archive: Buescher C Soprano / Detach Bell

General description : A unique Buescher C soprano, in a very rare version. Only a couple of these were made (one of them is at the Saxquest Museum). It has both the Detach-Bell and a range up to high F, and is probably a one-of-a-kind version. There are only 3 other known Buescher Detach-Bell C sopranos and this is the only one with the high F key. The 3 others have a range to high Eb, so only 2 palm keys. This one is only 14 digits later than the one at the Saxquest museum, so most likely the same craftsman worked on both horns. The so-called Detach-Bell is actually not detachable, but its a separate bell so not a one-piece soprano as usual. Note: this is a consignment sale by the current owner in the US. This soprano is NOT available for test playing at MRO saxophones. We will direct you to the seller for further details.Condition : This saxophone is in mint condition. No damage, dents or repairs. Only a couple of minor scratches. The pads are still the original Snap-in pads and probably need to be replaced.Warranty : No warranty: sold as-is.Level : professional.Body : silver plated.Condition : mint.Visual : no issues.Repairs : none.Engraving : Buescher engraving on the bell.Keywork : silver plated.Condition : mint.Pads : original older Snap-in pads. Replacement required.Features : High F key, Detach-Bell with gold wash inside.Case : Original Buescher case, including original key.Case condition : Excellent, no damage.History : Unknown: the current owner bought it from a friend. Probably from the Michigan area, as some old paper reed savers are included in the case.Remarks : C sopranos are rare anyway, but this one is unique and in mint condition..
