From the archive: Conn 12M Ladyface

The 12M baritone saxophone is the standard baritone made by Conn, and not much was changed since it was introduced in the late 1930s. Its a sax that plays loud.. Not for the beginner. Huge sound, perfect for big band, lead and pop music. These saxes dont have a low A or high F sharp kexs. . This one was built in 1950 and has the Ladyface engraving on the bell. This is one of the last 12M horns with both lacquered body and keywork. Condition : This 12M Ladyface is a great player in current technical condition. All pads are good and the horn plays very nice.Optical this horn has some imperfections, as always with these older baritone saxophones. It has its share of dings, dents, scratches and lacquer wear, but nothing serious. See the many pictures below. There are a couple of solder repairs on some of the posts and on the low Eb keyguard. A couple of minor dings on the goose neck as well. Definitely not a beauty, but a solid horn. These horns are highly sought after because of their sound.The original neck has a couple of minor dings and most of the lacquer is gone. It fits perfectly on the horn.The case is not original, but from the same period.
