From the archive: Conn New Wonder Series II (Chuberry)

General description : From the golden years of jazz : a Conn New Wonder series II tenor saxophone. Also known as the ChuBerry model, but that's actually incorrect. Leon ChuBerry played on a Conn Transitional tenor, not on a New Wonder series II. But were stuck with this model name, and everybody is using it. Not that many tenors were build, and finding a nice example in silver is extremely rare.. It features the rolled tone holes and the extra G# trill key. The tenor version doesnt have a microtuner neck.It has a very warm and mellow sound, completely different from a 10M Ladyface. Perfect for blues, ballads and traditional jazz.Condition : Just have a look at the pictures.. This horn is in extremely nice condition, being almost a 100 years old! The only silver wear is near the thumb rest, and some very light wear on a couple of the key guards. No damage, no dents, no repairs; completely original! The amber rollers and the locking screws are all present and original. The silver plated keywork shows hardly any wear.It was overhauled by its previous owner in the USA in 2017: an additional full maintenance check was performed in November 2021, including new cork, felt, oil, regulation, cleaning and polish. The engraving is just beautiful.. The pads are mostly Conn Reso-pads and are all in fine condition: no need for a repad.Warranty : as-is condition : no warranty.Level : professional.Body : Matt silver plated body with shiny engraving.Condition : almost mint condition.Visual : a couple of tiny scratches only. No dents or damage.Repairs : none.Engraving : beautiful Conn engraving.Keywork : silver plated keywork.Condition : very good, almost no silver wear.Pads : very good Conn reso-pads.Neck : silver plated.Condition : very good, no pulldown, no silver wear.Features : Rolled tone holes, extra G# trill key.Case : Original vintage Conn case, with logo.Case condition : very good condition, only light wear and tear.History : From original owners family in New York , United States.
