From the archive: Continental Colonial
. This is a Conn built saxophone, a so-called stencil. The bore (the way the tube tapers) is the same as with the Conn tenors from that time, the brass used is also the same. The application is just a bit simpler and there are no folded edges at the tone holes. I can't find anything about the serial numbering, but the construction shows this instrument from the mid 1930s. It is a super solidly built instrument with the typical warm and full Conn sound. The pads are like new, it has mainly stood still after the overhaul. I took it apart, gave it new oil, removed some play and adjusted it optimally. A fine saxophone for a modest budget.
