From the archive: Selmer Mvi
1973 This is a very well playing, somewhat younger, MVI. It was overhauled a long time ago, but not played much after the overhaul. It still closes completely. The padding is ok, but the corks and felts are not all very attached anymore, so something needs to be done in the not too long term. It does sound fine, nicely even, nice and open, well adjusted. The paint is original, but not anymore, the body is cool, the mechanics too. You can take it with you and have the work done later at your favorite repairman and then this instrument costs 5500 If I were your favorite repairman: disassembly, replace cork and felt, play away, pads in the leather grease, and what I come across costs 350 A complete overhaul is also possible. I would do that with metal resonators in the pads, it gets a little more clarity and power. Surcharge after revision: 750.
