General description : The Yamaha YBS-52 baritone saxophone with low A is Yamaha's intermediate model. Yamaha makes some of the best saxes currently available. These saxes not only have a great tone quality but have ergonomic keywork and play in tune. The YBS-52 is an older version of Yamaha's semi-professional instrument but is considered by some to have a more strident and bold tone quality. These older Yamaha baritones have a cult following because they are Yamaha Japan quality horns but at a fraction of the price of what these sell for new.Condition : This horn was completely overhauled in 2022, using Prestini pads with domed metal resonators. The action feel good and this horn plays very well.This bari is in good condition. Original lacquer is about 85% present, with the usual lacquer wear on body and keywork. The horn was used and has its share of common things and smaller dents: nothing to worry about. It also has some solder repairs on the goose neck bracket, as this was renewed during the overhaul. The neck is a brand-new aftermarket neck.
