From the archive: (Used) Yamaha Yas855 Custom Alto Sax

My understanding is that the 855 was a model introduced the same time as the 875 but Yamaha eventually ran with the 875, I have no idea why because the 855 sounds GREAT! I believe it's a smaller bore than the 875 which may be why in my mind it feels little bit more 'Selmer like' in terms of resistance and focus. Certainly a lot warmer sounding than a 62 or 82ZRecently overhauled (not by us) but we've given in a full service and everything is functioning fantasticallySome light cosmetic wear, nothing that suggests anything other than fair usageLike all our used instruments it comes with a 7 day approval, 6 month warranty and free service
