General description : This is the Jupiter JTS-989 "Artist Series". They were made in silver plated and in lacquered version: this is the lacquered version (GL). The 900-series horns are also known as the Artist series. Jupiter began producing these in direct competition to the YTS-62 and some players say the Jupiter is the better option at a more affordable price. Since the 1980's the Jupiter brand has been synonymous with excellent build quality and the Artist series takes that one step further with many advanced feature that are featured on much more expensive horns. The core sound is clean and warm with great intonation. Action is smooth and comfortable in the hands. This sax plays full range and seals wonderfully. This is one of the latest JTS-989 horns, with the standard engraving on the bell.
