From the archive: Selmer Sa 80

1984 This is a tenor from the first series Super Action (built between 1980 and 1986). Retroactively this is considered the most beautiful series. It has hardly been played with after the revision a few years ago. I completely disassembled it, removed all remaining play, replaced all cork and felt (you never know how long that will remain in place) I replaced the pads with even a little visible water damage, the rest was like new and is cared for with leather soap and grease. In short, I classify it as refurbished, which is also mechanically correct. It is an almost undamaged instrument and still has quite a bit of lacquer. It plays and intones easily and sounds like a good Selmer: balanced and even throughout the range, nicely full and with enough punch,
