Conn 6M VIII Ladyface
Serial 304564 refers to January 1942, so shortly after the Pearl Harbor attack. This may be one of the very last saxophones built by Conn before switching to produce altimeters for the US army, theres no accurate info when Conn stopped their saxophone production. Also some horns were built during the war, mostly for the US army (with US engraving on the bell). This is one of the best Ladyface saxophones I ever played (and I played a lot of them..) What a sound!. .Condition : The horn was overhauled a couple of years ago by its previous owner. It's in fantastic optical and technical condition. The original lacquer is one of the nicest Ive ever seen, with a beautiful Ladyface engraving on the bell. Theres only light wear on the usual touch points. The original neck has the VIII stamp. The microtuner works great, no damage on the neck except for one tiny thing. No pull down and perfect fit on the body. The body itself is in great shape, no dents, damage or repairs. All locking screws are present on this alto. It also has all original cellulose rollers, in great condition.
