Conn Transitional 6M
The Conn Transitional 6M type has the B and Bb keys on LH side and the 6M-style pinky plateau. Almost identical to the real 6M, the neck has the old-style ChuBerry microtuner. These horns are absolute killers, lots of power and very free blowing. This one was build early 1932 and is one of the first Transitional altos with the complete 6M-style keywork layout. No lady face engraving on the bell. Original double-socket neck with fully functional microtuner is in excellent condition. This alto was played professionally for a couple of years in the Florida area and comes with a Kases contoured case.Condition : The horn was overhauled a couple of years ago, but the old relacquer was in rather bad condition and some springs were weak. So I decided to make this another project horn, including removing the lacquer and a complete new rebuild. No dents, no damage and only 3 minor solder repairs on the body octave pip, one post and the neck tenon adapter: all well done. All springs were renewed. The bare brass has a rather uncommon reddish color due to the high amount of copper: a good thing! Chocolate Roopads with flat metal resonators were installed. Most rollers on the LH pinky plateau were renewed during the previous repair.Warranty : 1 year full warranty.Level : professionalBody : Lacquer : bare brass.Condition : almost mint.Visual : no damage.Repairs : solder repair on one post, neck tenon receiver and octave pip.Engraving : No engraving: Conn logo only.Keywork : Lacquer : bare brass.Condition : excellent, only light wear.Pads : New Chocolate roopads with flat metal rsonators.Neck : Lacquer : bare brass.Condition : excellent, with fully functional microtuner.Features : Rolled tone holes / Double socket neck.Case : Kases black contoured case.Case condition : good , with light wear and tear.History : From pro player in St. Augustin, Florida, USA.Remarks : One of the first Transitional models with full 6M-style keywork layout, without Ladyface engraving.
