Keilwerth Prelude

. This silver-plated alto saxophone was built in Germany, near Keilwerth, for the company Hakkert in Rotterdam, somewhere in the 1960s. We bought it as an unplayable wreck, initially to make jewelry, sculptures or the like. In the end we decided to restore it completely, in the hope that it could turn out to be a good saxophone. And that was a bull's eye: it's still very solid, it plays smoothly, it blows easily, intones easily and sounds like a clock: open and clear without being sharp. Beautiful horn, saved from oblivion!
